In January athletic director Mike Bohn announced the addition of women’s lacrosse that will begin varsity play in the 2013-14 academic year.

In the December 2011 edition of the Coloradan, Bohn said he thought “women’s lacrosse seems to be gaining a lot of momentum.”

The last sport to join the CU athletic department’s lineup was the women’s soccer team, which began varsity play in 1996.
