4 CU basketball players have been selected in the top 12 of the NBA draft; sophomore Alec Burks went No. 12 overall to the Utah Jazz this spring, Chauncey Billups (Soc ex’99) was picked third in 1997, Scott Wedman (Bus’74) went No. 6 in 1974 and Cliff Meely (A&S’71) was chosen No. 7 in 1971. 3 Club sports teams won national titles during the 2010-11 school year — swimming and diving, triathlon and men’s soccer. 93 Number of wave starts CU athletic director Mike Bohn initiated in his role as official starter of the Bolder Boulder 10K on Memorial Day. 100,000 is the amount of Euros earned by former CU golfer Matt Zions (Fin’02) when he won the Saint Omer Open in France by seven strokes in June.

Buffs join the Pac

CU and state and local officials celebrated the university’s entrance into the Pac-12 Conference on July 1. Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper declared it Pac-12 Day, and the Spirit Bell at the Center for Community, which opened in August 2010 east of Regent Hall, and the Old Main bell rang a dozen times at noon to commemorate the occasion.
