golf_ballSoccer coach Bill Hempen helped train the U-18 women’s national team in Boulder in July. The U-18 and U-20 U.S. teams, along with the U-20 Canadian national squad, took part in a week of exhibition matches and altitude training at CU’s Prentup Field.

In his first month after turning pro, former CU golfer Derek Tolan (Soc’09) won the San Juan Open in Farmington, N.M., receiving $15,000. Tolan and CU teammate Pat Grady were named honorable mention All-Americans for their seasons when each player won two tournaments.

Forward Toby Veal left the CU basketball team after his freshman season, reportedly to be closer to his family. Veal is the second freshman from last season to exit, joining Ryan Kelley.
