Coloradan advertising
Our readers
Coloradan, the University of Colorado’s alumni magazine, reaches over 200,000 educated readers four times a year in a personally relevant, engaging and informative editorial environment. The Coloradan focuses on campus news, outstanding and interesting alumni, faculty and student achievements, sports, Alumni Association activities and cutting-edge research and its impact on CU alumni and the world.
Your advertising will reach alumni, faculty and staff of CU-Boulder. An estimated 84,000 readers live in Colorado, 42,000 in the Denver metro area and an additional 26,000 in the surrounding Boulder area. The remaining readers live throughout the United States. Coloradan readers represent a diverse age range with the largest concentration of readers spanning ages 21 to 54.
The 72-page full-color Coloradan is the only publication that covers CU and reaches all addressable alumni. Every year approximately 6,000 new graduates begin receiving the magazine.
Advertising policy
Advertisements must be well designed and in good taste and not be offensive to any of our readers. Issues such as race, ethnicity and gender sensitivity must be considered. No alcohol or tobacco advertising is allowed.
The association’s editorial department will have the final say in what is appropriate in design and content of all advertisements. The editors will determine placement of all advertisements in each issue.
The editorial department must be informed of the size of the advertisement by the advertisement space closing deadline. Sizes must be consistent with the publication’s format. All ads must be press-ready on compatible CDs and delivered to the editors or sent via an e-mail attachment on or before the established deadline.
The editorial department is not responsible for costs of design and production of advertisements. The advertiser may work with the publication’s designer to create ads. The designer will bill the advertiser directly for such work.
Vendors whose ads for insurance, credit cards and travel that result in the loss of the publication’s nonprofit postage rate will pay the difference between nonprofit and bulk rate postage.
